A recent editorial in Smart Company argues that Australian retailers should focus on improving their customer service, rather than wasting their breath complaining about the unfair advantages enjoyed by Internet traders.  Many retailers compete with Internet rivals by cutting floor staff, leaving customers dissatisfied and prices still too high.  Meanwhile the best Internet retailers offer easy access to information about deliveries and refunds and strong help desks.
